SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

Each year, around the time of the Super Bowl football game, Souper Bow of Caring mobilizes youth to collect dollars and soup cans for hunger relief organizations in their local communities. 100% of oney collected goes directly to the charity of their choice. None of the money goes to Souper Bowl of Caring national headqurters. Visit their website: souperbowl.org to find out more details and shop their online store to support the national headquarters efforts.

TACKLE HUNGER

A 2009 U.S. Census Bureau report recently showed the number of Americans living in poverty has reached its highest level in 51 years, rising above 14%. That leaves one in five children in our country living inpoverty and means even more people will be turning to food pantries this winter for help feeding their families.

Help the youth of SUMC support the local food pantries by donating your cans of soup and dropping them off in our soup can dispalys located in the church's narthex.

TACKLE HUNGER WITH SOUPER BOWL OF CARING

Souper Bowl of caring helps young people across America develop a stronger connection to their communities by caring for their neighbors in need. Join the movement by dropping off your cans of soup in our soup can displays in the church'a narthex. Collections begin January 2, 2011 and concluding on Sunday, February 13, 2011. Summerville United Methodist Church (SUMC) collected and donated over 250 cans of soup to a local food bank. Our 2011 goal is 300 cans. Thank you for your past support and with all your help we will accomplish our goal.
